Beautiful, historical hotel in the heart of the Highlands. Ideal for Nature Lovers, Nessie Hunters or NC500 explorers. The Station Hotel is a beautiful historical building in the centre of the village of Alness. Comprising of 12 rooms, this period hotel has been recently renovated to bring it back to its former glory. Perfectly located for exploring all that the Highlands has to offer, from fishing to walking, NC500 to Distillery tours. If wildlife is your thing, we make the perfect base for Dolphin spotting in Fortrose and Seal watching in Cromarty. There are local, seasonal cruises daily in the Summer months. Alness is ideally located for many presitgious golf courses including Castle Stuart, Nairn Dunbar and of course Alness GC. The restaurant is open to residents and non residents and serves quality local food daily. Don't miss our famous Sunday Carvery We have twelve bedrooms available at reasonable rates with all the comforts you’d expect including TV, tea and coffee ma
Nice clean hotel, good big shower room. Check in bit confusing as no reception but staff very friendly & helpful. Bar meal was very nice. Continental breakfast disappointing, no cheeses or meats. Would stay again.

Family run business. We will do our best to look after you. Great place to come over for a few days break. Peacefull, with amazing views. We will help you with day trips away (drive or walk) or you can stay in bed all day if you wish!
My partner and I won a weekend away at this delightful lodge, and it more than exceeded our expectations! Gunta was very warm, welcoming and hospitable, so much so that it felt like we were staying with a friend rather than a host, which was lovely. Her two dogs and cat were also very sweet and well behaved, and we quickly felt at home :) The lodge is brilliantly located - you really are in such a peaceful location, and we felt it made a great base from which to explore. The air is fresh, and there is no sound of distant traffic etc; one really is at peace here and away from the hustle and bustle! The room itself was spacious, clean, and very comfortable, with all the amenities one would need: a big bed, TV with Netflix, a fridge (very handy), tea/coffee/biscuits, and many toiletries. We slept very well! The breakfasts were superb and there was lots of choice, and the portions meant that we never left feeling hungry before we set off to explore. As we were new to the area and had limited time, Gunta kindly created a GPS route for us so that we could take a road trip and visit key sites in the area and beyond, such as Dornoch, Dunrobin Castle, and Lairg. She also took us for a wonderful morning walk where we were able to discover the local woodland with her and her lovely dogs. These personal touches meant so much and she is very knowledgeable and passionate; we were able to explore without feeling like we needed to google everything! This was very kind of her and made our trip very memorable; I felt like I actually relaxed and switched-off from work, which I really needed. We would love to visit again (for longer!) and would highly recommend this lodge to anyone wishing to visit this part of Scotland; you will be treated so well and will definitely want to come back. We had booked into this B&B but checked out almost immediately. When we arrived we drove into the car park that resembled more a building site. We were shown into the kitchen before being shown two alternative rooms. As we left the kitchen the dog, which appeared to have free access to all bedrooms was sick near the kitchen door. The dog ran into the first room we were shown and ran under the bed. The rooms are small and quite claustrophobic. This combined with hygiene concerns made us seek alternative accommodation

Tullochard Was built in 1901 as the local Doctors Surgery & House. We have owned the house since 2011 & are gently upgrading the existing high standards to offer a more relaxed & enjoyable stay.
A fantastic Highland welcome from the proprietors offering me a complimentary dram when I arrived for the evening. In typical highland style the key was taped to the front door for me (better than under a flower pot!) I enjoyed a very convivial evening into the small hours and had a fantastic breakfast, cooked by Ali. The single room was small but adequate. Very comfortable, and the shower was like a pressure washer. There were plenty toiletries, sanitising gel and even a free mask. I was unsure of how to operate the coffee machine and settled for tea instead. Two lovely little daschunds popped in and out at breakfast, the older one had been timid the night before but was happy to be petted in the morning. I wasn't sure if it was okay to feed them so erred on the side of caution but I imagine that, with those big eyes, they would be able to pull off quite a haul if they engaged in begging mode. This is a lovely guest house with several artefacts from the past, excellent prints on the walls, ample parking and I would definitely recommend and would stay again without hesitation. Superb value for money. Thanks guys.
