Portimao is a sailor’s delight, thanks to its calm waters and beautiful conditions. Plenty of elite international competitions happen here, but you don’t have to be a professional to set sail. Cruising the coast on the double-masted Santa Bernarda pirate ship is a family favorite. On dry land, you can wander the lovely Alvor boardwalk, enjoy a succulent seafood meal or zip around the go-kart track at the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve.

Very close to one of the best beaches in the Algarve (2 minutes walking), with white sand, calm, clear waters. In this village you will find a huge gastronomic offer, bars with plenty of entertainment and also regional crafts. The RIA HOSTEL ALVOR, with a relaxed and jovial decoration, has 6 bedrooms with 2 rooms with 1 doublebed and 1 bunkbed, 2 rooms with 3 bunkbeds and 1 room with 4 bunkbeds.
We decided to tour Portugal and not plan for a couple of nights so we weren't restricted to places if we found a cool spot. It turns out that we found the best spot ever. We booked last minute, they had a laundry service for a small fee, the amenities were perfect. Where we stayed had 2 levels of terrace to see the sun set over the ocean. We also were steps away from restaurants and the beach. I would stay there again for sure!

Cristina and all the staff here are so friendly and helpful. The house is charming, clean and comfortable. The location is great, very close to beach, restaurants and bars. No hesitation in recommending it and would be very happy to stay here on my return visit :-)

Portimao's a sprawl, not the most alluring town in the Algarve, but a decent base for day trips. Alameda's in the small historic core, friendly folk, comfortable, clean and well equipped and sensibly priced. A good choice.

Saturday the 11 of December I have decided to dine at this new restaurant ,and I had a great experience we started with the "couver"sliced bread, roasted chorizo, olives and a good quality portuguese cheese. For mains we had an excellent ox tail and sweet potato stew and my friend had a plate of delicious lamb chops for desert we had creme brulee and chocolate mousse Just want to say that the food was excellent the service was good and the atmosphere fantastic They also have a lovely Pateo for summer diners or sunny days lunch's I do recomend this Restaurante to all
