With a little bit of this and a little bit of that all mixed together with flair and panache, beautifully vibrant New Orleans has made the most of marks left by whomever was calling the shots during whatever era over the past few centuries. Hardly a hodgepodge, the result of such a distinctive blend of cultures is an enchanting cityscape, a set of unique traditions that continuously delight the world, and a jaunty way of living that must be experienced to be appreciated.

The Quisby is an upscale hostel in the Lower Garden District. We offer ridiculously comfortable beds, a bar downstairs for making new friends, free breakfast, and blazing fast WiFi throughout for making your friends back home jealous.
First time in New Orleans backpacking with a friend. We are very happy we picked Quisby! The hostel has a great atmosphere to it, the staff are brilliant & helpful. They hold activities like movie night, painting, live music on various nights, which are good for meeting people and sharing stories. They have a happy hour everyday and provide complimentary breakfast. It is well located - around 20mins from the French quarter and the WW2 museum only a short walk away. We booked a private twin room with ensuite, which as expected was bunk beds - big enough for 2 people with a small wet room. I would happily recommend The Quisby to fellow travellers - it has a fantastic energy to it!

Auberge NOLA Hostel has won the Hoscar for Best Hostel USA twice in the last 3 years. It is one block from the St. Charles Ave Street Car, with nightly events and an amazing social atmosphere. *Nightly Social Events *Free Breakfast *Free Parking *Laundry Services *Within a 4 block radius you have access to over 15 restaurants and bars several of which are 24 hours.
Excellent staff seem determined to help you enjoy your stay. Comfortable beds, excellent linens. Evening social among guests and staff. Street parking. Tabby cat hangs around patio and front porch, but is aloof. Use Jazzy Pass for transit...quite a bargain.

India House is a bohemian hostel in the Mid-City neighborhood of New Orleans with easy access to the rest of the city by the Canal Street streetcar. We offer a chance to meet and socialize with fellow travelers in our indoor and outdoor common areas, including the city's only hostel pool. For those looking for something beyond the bland familiarity of a hotel, our hostel is full of artwork and lived-in comfort.
Going to New Orleans and India House Hostel, was one of the best decisions we ever took through our trip in US, Mexico and Costa Rica. New Orleans is an amazing city and the vibe continues throughout India House Hostel. AJ and the rest of the staff is a lot of fun and very very helpful. This is not our last time we visit New Orleans and for sure not the last time we visit India House Hostel, hungry for more of that sweeet vibe.

The female staff are unfriendly and strange and don’t really interact with guests. There was one nice staff member a young guy called Isaac but the rest of them are pretty creepy tbh. The building itself is in a good location near all amenities but it has no windows and is reminiscent of a jail cell. Also this is the only hostel I’ve stayed at with no social events and encouraged interaction from the staff .
