We are by the Nakamise avenue, and a short walk from Asakusa Station, If you are planning to visit Ueno, Ginza, and Nikko, you can reach directly. We have Japanese style baths on 6th floor. There are two rooms separated for male and female. Please enjoy your bath time with the sight of five-storied pagoda. Traditional Japanese cuisine, "WASHOKU" was placed as a UNESCO's intangible cultural heritage in 2013. Traditional "WASHOKU" breakfast is composed of TAMAGO-YAKI (Japanese-style omelet), YAKI-ZAKANA (grilled fish of the season), NI-MONO (seasonal boiled dishes), SHIRU-MONO (soup dishes) and GOHAN (boiled rice). The quintessence of "WASHOKU" is to take the full advantage of seasonal ingredients. Menu varies with the seasons. Beside its tastes, "WASHOKU" breakfast is served with special attention to its appearance and nutrient balance. Please enjoy the authentic "WASHOKU" breakfast in Ryokan Shigetsu. Asakusa is one of the most well known and popular towns in Tokyo. The roads leading to the famous shrine there provide an abundance of cultural curiosities ,from sweets to yukatas to good luck charms. Ryokan Shigetsu is located right around the corner of the main street "Nakamise-dori." You can relax in the Japanese style room and bath just as comfortable and convenient as using an ordinary hotel.
I visited here in January of 2020. Despite being located extremely close to the Asakusa markets, which I highly recommend to visit during your stay, the hotel is surprisingly very quiet and cosy yet modern. Easy walk to local restaurants and shops.

The position is just one of a kind of this ryokan. I stayed here for three night , upon check in they gave me a room not overlooking the temple. Staff was super attentive and kind and after one night they changed me to a bigger room overlooking the temple. Hotel is very clean and staff is extra gentle . Be predated to sleep on the tatami , some like some don’t , it’s a matter of choice. Congratulation keep up the good work

This comfortable traditional inn (ryokan) is just off Nakamise Dori, near the Kaminarimon Gate, so about as central as you can get in Asakusa. There are great urban views from the upper floor windows. They do not serve food. There is the usual drinks machine and plenty of places for breakfast and other meals locally. It is a straightforward, modest place, with tatami mats and futon beds in the rooms. This is a good place to experience traditional Japanese culture. The staff were all very polite and helpful. Although there is nothing remarkable about it, I could not fault my stay here, so I give it 5 stars. I hope I will return.

Experience the spirit of Japan’s traditional living in a new style hotel. The best experiences occur rarely, and so we value each moment we feature in your journey to Japan. Enjoy the expansive hospitality of a compact Japanese tea room. Enter into the extraordinary - As with all tea houses, you enter through the ‘dewy path’ past a garden. You will see a lounge with a counter. Each element serves to prepare you for the change from outside to inside. To the back, you can see a curtain beyond which you take off your shoes, and the cares of your day. This is the prologue to your experiencing the special esthetic world of the Japanese tea ceremony. Infinity in small spaces - The standard room is eleven square meters. The ceilings are low, and the light which enters the windows is kept at a minimum. From the facilities to the amenities, the unnecessary is stripped away in an ascetic minimalistic design. Just as the tea master removes all that might distract from his hospitality, our concept is one of heartfelt tea room communication. As the proximity of the tearoom invites sincere reflection and discussion, so does sharing a tatami mat room, or lying on futons. A visit will naturally invite a more personal experience. Experiencing traditional Japanese interior culture - A unique room culture developed from the efforts to create the greatest effect from a limited amount of space. By the filtering of light and the sense of depth created by the use of hand made sliding doors, a limited amount of space could suggest an area much larger. A small pocket garden could soften the border between outside and inside. Flower arrangements bring inside a sense of the season. You can notice the many careful decisions made to add to the experience. The tatami mats are the brilliant way a Japanese room can change in an instant from a living room to a bed room simply by putting out, or shutting away the futons. Our sincere desire to please - We want your visit to be like no other. Our staff, like a tea host, endeavor to understand you and your needs. We can introduce you to tea culture, or Japanese culture, act as a local guide, and hopefully serve as a trusted friend. Our staff live in the neighborhood, and are steeped in the local culture. It is our wish that we can aid you in making this a unique, memorable experience.
We loved our time with the Cyashitsu Ryokan. The staff were attentive and helpful. The room was gorgeous. Cyashitsu is located close to Sensoji Temple and many other interesting experiences. The staff of Cyashitsu were very helpful and informative when they helped to plan our daily experiences. They also helped us with restaurant recommendations and even called to place bookings for us. We will be back! :)
