Chau Ram County Park is located of Hwy 76 in Westminster, SC. The park encompasses over 400 acres of woodland with 2 miles of the Chauga River to explore. Enjoy hiking, tubing, fishing, swimming, disc golf, camping, or a relaxing picnic at this scenic location. The park is open from 7am to dusk from March 1st through Nov 15th, and 9am to 4pm from Nov 16th through Feb 28th. My family and I needed a getaway for the weekend and we found Chau Ram County Park. We had never been there before, but boy were we surprised! This place is amazing. From the moment we got to the campgrounds, we were treated like guests. We were greeted by friendly staff who showed us to our campground, kindly went over everything with us and smiled the whole time. Each morning, we woke up to immaculate grounds. All the trash cans seemed to be emptied on the hours and there was never any litter. And, as we made our way to the river and the falls, we were blown away by the beauty! It was gorgeous! The water was cool, but only enough to be refreshing, not cold. We spent hours exploring the river. The hiking trailers were clearly marked in and in great condition. With only 26 camp sites available and only a few parking spots, it never felt crowded. And, with a no alcohol policy, the atmosphere was family friendly the entire time. We are so glad we found Chau Ram County Park and cannot wait to plan our next visit.
