Museum of Folk Musical Instruments in Szydłowiec is the only institution of this type in Poland considered by UNESCO as the world's first professional museum of folk musical instruments of one country. The collection has about 2,300 museum exhibits, and some of them date back to the end of the 17th century. You can see instruments such as bagpipes, "zlobcoki", double basses, fiddles or drums.

Me and my boyfriend recently visited the place and we both loved it! Museum is held in amazing CASTLE with massive exhibitions of polish folk instruments. All guides speaks perfect english, there are also audioguides to rent if prefered. Everyone are super friendly and their knowledge and passion about the instruments has no limits. You can learn how to play few, take lots of photos and buy souvenirs in a little shop inside! THE ENTRANCE IS COMPLITELY FREE! Highly recommended if you around ????
