Nedre Hajum Gard is located in beautiful surroundings in Royken municipality, 1 / 2 hours from Oslo, 20 min. from Drammen, 20 min. from Drobak. We have over 30 horses in the stable, ranging from Shetland Ponies to Oldenburgerer. The farm has 20 different animal species, organizes riding school and riding camp / farm stays and various courses in riding and driving. Farm Visits. Old cabin with room for 50 guests.
Slemmestad Geology Centre was built up with assistance from the Palaeontological Museum and opened in 1994. Fossils, species of rock and minerals from the surrounding area are arranged in display cases. A model illustrates the bedrock in Slemmestad and the neighbourhood. The timescales and terms that are used in geology are described on wallcharts. In addition, the Centre has a considerable collection of books and maps. The Geology Centre is intended to provide information to everyone who is interested in geology - school classes, the local population, tourists and the many amateur and professional geologists that visit Royken each year. The former Sack Factory in Slemmestad houses the Geology Centre, the Cement Museum and the Public Library. Brochures that give more information about the many interesting geological walks in the area may be purchased in the library.
Slemmestad Cementmuseum is placed in Slemmestad centre. The museum was opened in 1991. The museum shows 100 years of development within the cement production and how important the factory was for Slemmestad and the people living there.
100 year old corn granary in Royken. Restored, renovated and now run by Royken History Society and used to display museum items from the local district. Also used for private functions. Guided tours for groups by appointment with Royken Historielag.
