6 Things to do in St Joses That You Shouldn't Miss

August 15, 2021 Russell Mellin

From the Magic Kingdom to magical spa treatments, Orlando sparkles with the promise of adventure. Spend a day exploring the world-famous Disney theme parks, giggling with the dolphins at SeaWorld, or screaming your head off on a Universal Studios roller coaster. For a less adrenaline-pumping afternoon, enjoy the quiet natural beauty of the Harry P. Leu Gardens, or enjoy a seaweed scrub at a luxury day spa. Savor fresh and local ingredients at one of Orlando’s James Beard-nominated restaurants.

The Shooting Gallery

Very well run with polite friendly and knowledgeable staff. Range clean and well maintained. Pricing was also competitive (Glock 17 with 50 x 9mm rounds and desert Eagle with 5x 0.50cal rounds incl range fee and targets for approx $78). Visitor from New Zealand well used to plenty of skeet shooting but never fired handguns. Brilliant introduction to learning these characteristics in a safe environment.

CityWalk's Rising Star

For everyone with dreams of taking the stage and belting out a song as lead singer of a band, get ready for your moment in the spotlight. CityWalk's Rising Star is not your typical karaoke club. Here when you grab the mic you're performing with a live band complete with real backup singers. Choose from an impressive number of song titles and rock out like a superstar, or croon your favorite country ballad, as you perform in front of a live audience.

I've been many times. Weeknights can be super fun, especially if there are big conferences in town. If so, there will be tons of tipsy corporate types who get up and sing. Some of them will actually blow you away! Fridays and Saturdays are best, but can get crowded. Two levels. The live band is always amazing and the backup singers are great! There is a cover charge, but that is waived if you are a certain type of Universal Orlando Annual Passholder and maybe if you are staying at an on-site hotel. Make sure to ask.Check it out!!!
