It is always nice to meet people who love what they do, and I could clearly feel that on that day with our guide Selvaji and Pollachi Jeep Tourism. We spent all day long with Selvaji and he showed us Parambikulam Tiger Reserve in the morning (lots of wildlife to observe: monkeys, deers, wild boars, birds etc., however, for elephants and tigers some luck is needed) and Loam`s viewpoint - which is located on a breathtaking mountain road - and the Monkey Falls in the afternoon. Everything happened in an open jeep which gives the opportunity to be very close to nature even while sitting in a car. Selvaji has a lot of knowledge about the whole area which he shared with us. Showing great hospitality and being very heartly, Selvaji picked us up as a guide and dropped us as a friend.

One needs to buy entrance tickets for the vehicle and members for entering the Top Slip area. Though one may be destined to Parambikulam, we are expected to take all these tickets inclusive of Guide fees for Rs.150/. This is ridiculous but you are left with no other option. From there, its a bumpy ride of 10 kms taking around 30-40 minutes to reach Top Slip. The roads give a scenic view however, the roads are quite pathetic and one cannot go more than second gear in a car.

It was a great experience visiting Annamalai wildlife sanctuary also called ‘Top slip’. Though it was hot on day time animal sighting was too good.we enjoyed the mild nights with cool breeze.Quite good accommodation options are available within 10 km radius.it shares boundary with Parambiculam tiger reserve, Kerala which is an eye feast.

If you visit kasiviswanathar.lokanayaki temple in June-september you will get an unique experience of air flow in the temple entrance called Gopuram. the wind will push you out when you enter the temple Gopuram. but once you cross a thresh hold distance of the same entrance then the wind will be 180 degrees rotated and will push you towards the temple inside premises. there is no visible wind tunnel or other obstructions.they have placed a description of this phenomina in the door way itself..in tamil language. It may puzzle any scientifically minded person.it happens only for these three or four months when the monsoon sets in.

I recently visited this temple with friends. The temple is located near Pollachi and situated behind the backdrop of mighty annamalai hills. The goddess here is considered as very powerful one and the temple is always crowded.Local shops and foods are available nearby. Don't miss to drink tender coconut in Pollachi.
