The old local retired shearers and volunteers have put so much work into this museum. The history is thorough and there is even a bibliography on all the local shearers from days gone by. It may be small but packed with history and displays. The walls are even covered with artworks from a local artist. Well worth a visit. As a local and a woolclasser I could spend all day there but unless you have my shed passion you’d probably only want an hour or so.

We dropped in to check out this highly recommended attraction to find it is closed till further notice for renovations. What we could see from the reception area was interesting but we were limited to the reception which was previously the railway station ticket office. But we enjoyed the most personal and inspiring conversation with Casey the receptionist who gave a heartfelt account of the district and its challenges especially for young people. She has grown up here so knows all the stories. Thank you Casey for making us feel welcome and special. We will drop by next time we are in the district.

You might say it’s a boy thing but the sight of a real Iroquois chopper is enough to make anyone stop and remember those who fought a difficult battle both in Vietnam and when they returned home. Thank you!

Large humerus statue of an 'icon'. Approximately 5m tall. Esky on the right of the statue was the perfect height for children to stand on, for a picture opportunity.
