Masjid Tanah is a mukim in Alor Gajah District, Melaka, Malaysia. The town has been inhibited since mid 1500 AD starting from a small village. It is one of the largest towns in Melaka. In the late-1990s, the value of real estate in Masjid Tanah received a boom when the government decided to build an oil refinery owned by Petronas at Sungai Udang near the town.

I drove here witth my rental car (it is quite far away from everything) It is about 50min driving from melakka. I was the only visitor that day. The person in charge was a friendly guy with whom I had a nice chat and he explained me about their work. He clearly was very motivated. When I was went there tthere weren't a lot of turtles. Just some in a big pond and that was it. I guess you can see the small ones now and then as well. But I wasn't that lucky that day Still, I loved seeing the ones i saw swimming around
