Austria is not short of photogenic churches but this has to be one of the best. It dominates the town and sits in a beautifully maintained churchyard. Next door is a very pretty building housing the war memorials, made more poignant by each name having a photo attached.

My family and in laws stayed here for a week and it was the most relaxing time we had. People wee very helpful and it was our base in exploring the alps of Austria. We didn't want to leave.

For already several years we travel to Maria Alm for our skiing holidays and to our full satisfaction. The ski area is nice and has all the different difficulty type of slopes. The lifts are very good and further quality improvements are made. Also it is possible to do the Hochkonig tour (clock and ant-clockwise) which brings you to all the main villages in this connected ski area.
