Tucked away in the rain shadow of the You Yang Range, it is a delight to find this oasis of biodiversity. Endangered species such as rufous bettongs, bandicoots and brush-tailed rock wallabies are plentiful and easily viewed in this predator-free conservation park. Our guide was considerate and informative, taking care to ensure everyone in the group (which ranged from kids to people in their seventies) had ample opportunity to see the wildlife and to hear her explanations. The gentle night walk took about an hour, and wound gradually up Mount Rothwell to a magnificent view of Melbourne, then back again to the interpretive centre. Highly recommended.
