If you're eating at the Ariston, don't forget to walk across the street. The museum is small but houses an impressive collection. The staff are very helpful and friendly. I would definitely stop in again.

You will have a great time when you come to the Picker's Market! This market in friendly Litchfield is an outdoor experience and fun for all ages. The vendors carry quality items and the Market sticks true to their commitment of vintage, antique, upscaled, repurposed items. Music, food and a large market area make this a don't miss stop! Market items change monthly so this is a great place to find new treasures each time you visit. Bring carts, wagons or whatever you need to help you carry out your purchases. Umbrellas, raincoats and sunscreen might be helpful as the market is open in all types of weather. Also, the friendly town greeters at the information booth (located in front of the flag pole at Library Park) would enjoy saying hello and answering your questions. Sign the guest book each time you visit and share a little bit about your trip to the market with them. You will have a wonderful and fun experience!

lived here all my life and practicly lived on the lake as a kid, now theres so many rules for the lake, just don't even bother going any more. had 2 waverunners we used to use on the lake, but now you cant use them on the weekends, only during the week, so we sold them, there lake lots too, if someone calls the cops on you for being too loud at your lake lot, or any disturdance there, they will take your lake lot away from you. lake lot fees are through the roof, along with everything else in the town. this is the only thing Litchfield has going for it. but it is a large lake with a nice beach. and sometimes you might see an eagle family that lives there too.

Love the Drive in. Non of the spaces are bad. There are no speakers but the movies are broadcast over the vehicle's sound system. Food is affordable. The only downfall is the trains that go through during the movies. They blow their whistles repeatedly. But other than that the experience is great for families. The price per person is very reasonable.

Litchfield has a rare treasure at their doorstep! This area was noted decades ago by German immigrant Henry Eilers to contain some of the rarest untouched prairie vegetation. He worked hard to protect this natural heritage, which now is enjoyed by many, and left as a legacy for the future.
With over 700 species of plants and 70 kinds of butterfly, this 250+acre natural wonderland is nature enthusiasts paradise.
There is a box by the entrance which contains a map of the area and description of some of the flora and fauna you will find. The trails are well marked. But bring some good walking shoes or hiking boots. It might be central Illinois, but this place has some steep terrain. And if you're lucky, you may even spot a bald eagle or two, who roost in the preserve.
