My husband and I took our bikes on this trail for the first time. We looked online for a map and a place to drive to access the trail. The map mentioned you could get on at Osborne Street which was right by Farmville. There was no sign on the street that indicated where to go. So after a couple of failed attempts we finally found it. This area needs to have signs. The trail was fun but not very scenic. All you really see is trees on both sides. We really did enjoy the route over the bridge and that made the trip worth while. There was a park employee working from his truck selling items. He said they hope to have a visitor center in this area in the future. We did enjoy speaking with him and hearing about some of the changes they plan to make. There are spots along the way with bathrooms which was nice. We did ask him about the mile markers and he told us that the beginning of them starts in the middle of the High Bridge. One going east and the other west. This way as they add more to the 31 miles they currently have they won't need to re-number them.

This museum uses the old school house to tell the story of some remarkable young African-Americans who would not settle for the school conditions they were forced into. Amazing that this happened in 1951 years before anyone thought about civil rights in the US. Excellent facility, helpful staff, world class exhibits. Worth along drive to get here.

Mainly Clay has become the place to visit in Farmville. While you shop for one-of-a-kind hand-made pottery, jewelry, pottery supplies, fashion accessories, and more, you have the opportunity to watch experienced clay artists and students during the creative process. The studio offers classes for the beginner or the advanced. As a student of Rick's, it is rapidly becoming a second home that I look forward to visiting!

I enjoyed the cross section of art: paintings, metal sculpture, contemporary clay and photography. I'm sure there are things passing my memory. I'm really glad the gallery was open because the Longwood Visual Arts Center was a waste of time.

Third street is a great new brewery with great beer choices, a nice large tasting room, plenty of out door seating with some games, but no food other than popcorn. I think food trucks come, but none were there when we visited. Try the "Fog Light" porter, its tasty!
