Go for the beer. Stay for the meat/cheese tray. These folks know how to make brewski. They also know how to make you feel comfortable. This is a great if slightly out of the way pleasure. Try the Warbeard a universally satisfying Amber. You can take home a growler for a reasonable price. They say the water here is the best in Kansas.

El Dorado State Park

ESP is a large well kept park in hot steamy Kansas. We enjoyed our RV camp spot and bicycling around. There also was a terrific playground for our grandchildren. The water is murky but we swam anyway without incident. The staff and other campers are congenial and helpful but we did have a tent stolen and we noticed what appeared to be a homeless or runaway young woman with baby in a clearly defined no trespass zone with overgrowth and poison ivy

Butler County History Center and Kansas Oil Museum

We were headed home from a short vacation and decided to explore El Dorado a bit. We really wanted to see this museum but, alas, it was closed. There is quite a bit of oil history equipment on the property and some buildings depicting a bygone era. The city park next to the parking lot is a beautiful setting with geese, ducks, and a little bridge. Will definitely stop intentionally next time we pass by El Dorado, to see this museum.

Small town bowling alleys are usually run down and smell like a fifty year old ash try. Not so with the newly renovated Grizzly Bowl! What a delightful surprise! It's clean, fresh, and up to date with awesome electronic scoring systems, nice tables, clean restrooms, and one of the bonuses - bar and grill! You can have pizza, beer, sandwiches, or anything from their menu delivered right to where you're sitting - don't have to keep your drinks and food away from where you're sitting to enjoy bowling with your group.
