Huis Doorn was bought by Kaiser Wilhelm 2 of Germany after he was forced to abdicate and sent in exile in 1920. It is chocful of luxury items which were brought from his palaces in Germany by 59 train cars. Especially also a large collection of gorgeous paintings. He liked the house dor its large grounds where he could chop wood. There are guided tours on the top of the hour by very knowledgeable guides, cost 12 euros per persoon. There is also a museum shop on site and a restaurant in one of the side buildings.

A unique place. Not only a beautiful park, with wonderful trees, plants etc. What you here have, something that it's difficult to experience, is the magic. There is a very special atmosphere of peace and harmony. I am very sensitive and I had the impression that I could feel the trees literally breathing. You can just sit down on one of the benches and stay silent. You feel Nature, in its simplicity, with its sounds, which fills you with a sense of completeness. A special place.
