We stayed here for 2 nights over the New Year 2018 and was very impressed, the food was perfect and at a very high standard, lots of choice on the menu, the service was very prompt and all members of staff were very accommodating and had great customer service skills, always made you feel very welcome. Breakfast was also good, not a huge amount of choice but this wasn't a problem for us. The Superior room was lovely, lots of space with a very large comfortable bed along with a beautiful view of the countryside, the tea and coffee facilities along with the toiletries provided was a very nice touch. We wanted a short break away from busy life and this was exactly what we got, relaxation, perfect countryside setting, very comfortable room and great food. Highly recommended !

This a pebble beach, so one needs to bring something soft to sit on. The beauty of this beach is that it shelves steeply, so getting in and out of the sea is easy. The is a cafeteria by the car park with toilet facilities. The car par by the beach is a tad expensive. One could park at the village hall back towards the thatched forge and make a donation into the wishing well. The yellow bucket rather spoils the appearance though. Dont be fooled if the tarmac area is full, there is an overspill parking area beyond. There is a scenic level walk from the village hall, less than 1 mile, along a good footpath to the beach

Margells may once have been the parlour wing of a larger house, which explains its fine wall paintings in its well preserved 16th-century interior. Branscombe is a lovely Devon village, just over the hill from the sea. Margells can be booked for short breaks with the Landmark Trust, a charity that restores historic buildings at risk and makes them available for holidays.
Margells in the village of Street, Devon is an ancient and small cottage dating from the 16th century. About fifteen minutes’ walk to the beach at Branscombe. The garden is ideal for lounging in on a sunny afternoon. An excellent Landmark Trust experience and as good as it gets.
