This was the site of a prisoner of war camp that housed more than 10,000 German prisoners from 1943 to 1946.
It's been a couple of years since we visited this museum, but we were VERY impressed with its contents and displays. Very educational. Definitely well worth your time and money...a reasonable admission fee.

Train Wreck Winery is located in north-central Iowa in the thriving small town of Algona. The name, "Train Wreck Winery" is a tribute to a historic train accident that occurred in 1924 on land adjacent to our vineyard on the Clark Century Farm. The winery is owned by NFL Superbowl champion, Dallas Clark, a native of Livermore, IA. His wife (Jean), mother-in-law (Jean) and father-in-law (Steve) are making some of Iowa's best wines and serving them at the historic Chicago North Western Railroad depot. You're sure to enjoy our story, our wines and your experience visiting Train Wreck Winery. All Aboard!
