We first visited four years ago as novice riders and our return visit was every bit as good! Silvia is an excellent instructor and ride leader and she has numerous routes for you to enjoy the beautiful Yorkshire Dales on horseback. The Centre has a good variety of horses and ponies and from this and our previous ride we are sure Silvia can cater for all abilities and ride lengths. We have recommended the Centre to fellow riders.

Well worth driving out of your way and having a walk around Scar House Resevoir. Free car park and well marked footpath. Superb views.

This huge artwork was opened in 2010 and overlooks the Coldstone quarry which is still a working site and is one of the highest quarries in England. Parking at the foot of the hill is free and is a 10 minute walk to the top. It consists of two corridors with high limestones walls on each side gradually ascending to large viewing platforms which overlook the quarry. We visited at weekend so the quarry itself was not working but the views from the top are excellent. For keen walkers it is possible to use the car park as a starting point for the Toft Gate Heritage trail a 5½ mile walk offering varied landscapes of Upper Nidderdale, we completed the walk and finished off with a visit to Coldstones Cut which was an enjoyable afternoon. Details of the walk with map and directions can be found on the Nidderdale AONB website.

One of Yorkshires Premier Showcaves, centered in the heart of Nidderdale and the Yorkshire Dales National Park
We love exploring new places and on our way to Aysgarth where we’re staying for the week. We saw a sign for the caverns and decided to book a visit for today. We walked in and Stephen made us feel right at home! He was very friendly and had lots of information to tell us. We love that it was a self guided tour so there was no rush and it was nice and quiet with just me and my partner. The trail of fairy doors was fascinating and we love all things magical so this made it extra special for us both too!

The chap was very friendly. He was happy to help and chat to us. Plenty of old favourites. Sherbet dabs, fudge and everything you could imagine from your childhood.
