Newburgh /ˈnuːbɜːrɡ/ is a city located in Orange County, New York, United States, 60 miles (97 km) north of New York City, and 90 miles (140 km) south of Albany, on the Hudson River. Newburgh is a part of the New York CSA. The Newburgh area was first settled in the early 18th century by the Germans and British. During the American Revolution, Newburgh served as the headquarters of the Continental Army. Prior to its chartering in 1865, the city of Newburgh was part of the town of Newburgh; the town now borders the city to the north and west. East of the city is the Hudson River; the city of Beacon, New York is across the river; and it is connected to Newburgh via the Newburgh–Beacon Bridge. The entire southern boundary of the city is with the town of New Windsor. Most of this boundary is formed by Quassaick Creek. In May 2016, the city requested help for its PFOS contaminated water supply under Superfund.

This was an excellent tour. It was overwhelming to be in the middle of the Hudson River, birds soaring overhead, people from all walks of life, ... being where Henry Hudson sailed, seeing West Point! We loved it!!! The crew were super nice and friendly - we have taken plenty of cruise tours where the crew just goes "thru the motions" while it is clear they can't wait for you to GET OFF...not these people. They were lovely to everyone, caring and all of them acted as if this were the most interesting thing they could be doing! If you are a visitor to the area (we were) you should absolutely do it! Long enough to stay interesting and short enough to stay interesting! Color books for the kids and plenty to keep them interested though there were only a few kids on board when we were there! There were several couples from the area who have done it before and were doing it again...so if you live in the area - you should go! It was cool inside; they sell beer and wine which were quite nice as well as letting you bring snacks and drinks (no alcohol) aboard with you - no coolers. They had hot dogs for sale and candy. You can sit on the front but the back on the left side of the cabin with cabin facing forward was great!!!! Free parking across the street and in one lot on their side - but across the street had shade trees. Beautiful park with lots of very, very, friendly geese. Great restaurant next door. This was terrific! Highly recommend!

We were new to the area 3 years ago and were looking for a unique spot to relax and bring the young grandchildren to have fun. This is the place. Its very clean, diverse, and the lake and hiking trail is great. Lastly, the kids loved their part of the park that had jungle jims etc with a unique soft carpet under it. Never experienced that before.

We stumbled upon OCC because it was across the parking lot from our hotel, The Hampton Inn. As neither of us are big motorcycle fans, we really didn't expect much. Wow, were we surprised! The cafe was a really great atmosphere and we ended up eating dinner here! The food was delicious, great prices and portion size. There were specials on drinks and a fun crowd. It was a Monday night so they were having a trivia contest and we enjoyed listening to the participants in the game. There is a bowling alley and arcade, as well as, a cute gift shop with lots of cool things, and a few motorcycles to look at. We really enjoyed ourselves and think you will too!

Lawrence Farms Orchards

Reviewed By Fabulous-Mr - New York City, United States

This was my first trip here and it was the best time, I came by myself and enjoyed it. I could have spent the entire day, I arrived around 2pm and left around 5. The $5 weekend charge per car was not bad as there is so much staff to assist from start to finish. The variety is so good for fruits and vegetables. I got some free plastic bags from the staff and I picked a variety of apples that cost me under $12. There is a pond, picnic area, goats, chickens, store with honey etc. tasty donuts, pumpkin pie and food if you are hungry, this place is large so even if you see a lot of cars in the queue it’s because they are paying to enter and going to park, there is allot of parking spaces and once you do the farm is so huge you always have allot of space to yourself without feeling its crowded. My favorite part was walking through the orchard and the variety of apples here, I absolutely loved it and will return here. Nice tractor ride too for kids and pumpkin patch. The views of the valley is spectacular with the fall foliage.
