This park is medium in size but a very nice place for relaxation though not the standard Japanese Garden type park.

We stumbled onto this glorious pond surrounded by somei yoshino cherries. Around 3 pm it was uncrowded like Tokyo would be. Many benches for relaxing if walking around the pond. Boats for rental and food stalls but I don't know about this year 2020 with the cancellation of festivals.

Morioka Sansa Odori Festival, held early in August each year, holds the world record for the largest Taiko drumming festival with over 10,000 drummers and dancers parading through the city. The sound of that many big drums booming is awesome and quite literally takes your breath away, but when combined with the warbling of thousands of flutes and the vibrant colours of the dancer's costumes makes for an unforgettable experience.
