Thoroughly enjoyed our volcano trip, interesting display and information in the visitors centre before a little hike along the volcano ridge itself. Definitely glad I had a jacket as it got quite windy up there and the walk can be a little slippery underfoot so trainers at least are a sensible choice. Views from the top are spectacular and worth the walk, not sure the Spanish are so worried about health and safety as I doubt the single rope along the pathway would hold you back if you took a tumble.

Took the bus here from our hotel, about €3 each way for the two of us. The salt flats are a self sufficient business with walks around the outside of the salt pans. There are plenty of information boards to read on the way around in multiple languages to give you a better understanding of what you are looking at. It doesn’t take long to complete the walk, perhaps 45 minutes. There is also a restaurant and small shop to pick up products and have a drink/food. Lovely views and some interesting content. Worth a visit I’d say.

We visited on a sunny day at the beginning of August, the entry price was very reasonable and we got it even cheaper as residents! The information centre was very well laid out and there was loads of information in English and German as well as Spanish. We then ventured outside, the earthquake simulator was a bit of fun and then walked around the rim of the volcano admiring the views into the crater and down to the sea. We then returned to the centre and were slightly disappointed to find the on site cafe closed despite it only being around 3.30 and long before the tours closed. All in all an interesting and reasonably priced activity.
