We drove past this place and it looked so inviting we turned around and went back. Really glad we did. The visitors center has a great gift shop and some very impressive displays of the wildlife and the history of the area. The third floor is a really really good observation deck with some history displays. The center is free to visit. The y also have a set of hiking trails out through the wetlands surrounding the center that would be wonderful to go on when the weather is decent. This is well worth the detour to spend an hour or two on your way through the area.

Handmade German cookies and chocolates along with other homemade specialties. Seasonal and everyday gift items , also , in the summer months , Ice Cream parlor with in and outdoor seating.
Small store with not a huge selection, but very good. Some unusual ones include white lavender flavored chocolates and orange cookie candies. Expensive but what you would expect for hand made chocolates.

We brew some of the best beer in the country at this Ashland location and also at the Taphouse down the coast in Washburn. There are always an excellent selection of our brews on tap in our partner restaurants the Deep Water Grille and The Alley.
This is the middle bar between alley and higher end place. It offers cuisine from both. Just go here. One stop Best in town.
