We have visited once before and decided to return for the Christmas Themed escape room. My daughter and 5 of her friends- maximum in a room was 6. They were all aged 13 and I was advised that a paying adult had to be present in the room with them at all times and a surcharge of £10 to be paid. This I paid the first time and I was in the room - I would say the escape room they choose was a little too hard for them but someone was always on hand to give a clue! We were also given the option to upgrade to a 'party' for £30 and a member of the team would be in the room and this would also include drinks, party bag and a medal. As it was Christmas we upgraded and this made it all the more fun for the girls. The staff were great- greeted us in their costumes and were very good with the girls. The girls had a great time and 'escaped' on time and they loved the chance to dress up at the end for a picture. From all the way to booking to arriving the process was really easy- I emailed to ask a query and my email was responded to speedily, Great place - our only negative is that my daughter would like a birthday party here but maximum 6 guests, I understand as the rooms are small and any more would spoil the experience - credit to them for not trying to fit in more people. We will look again to see if there is a different theme as they would go back. One last thing make sure you bring the directions on how to get in as a little out of the way.

Down House in the village of Downe in Kent is the former home of Charles Darwin. The property and grounds are now managed by English Heritage with rooms either recreated as they were when Darwin lived there, or housing a broad range of exhibits on Darwin's life and voyage aboard the Beagle. Outside you can visit the kitchen garden, or picnic area. There is a cafe on site serving sandwiches, cakes, and drinks, as well as a gift shop. Parking for circa thirty cars is available free of charge. Entry was circa £15 for adults when we visited in Autumn 2020, but free for English Heritage members. Well worth a visit !

We had a 9th birthday party with 12 boys and girls - I was really impressed with the organisation of the booking and of the staff on the day, they dealt really well with the children and were very prompt with the food orders and handled all the cake/candles/cutting up stuff. As parents we could really relax! The children enjoyed the games, I didn't go in so can't comment on that, two of the girls didn't go back in for the second game, but some of the girls loved it and couldn't wait to go back in! So it's individual taste really. They sell candles if you've forgotten them. (We nearly had!) Take pound coins for the arcade type games as they didn't have change. Tea and soft drinks available for adults (tea in a proper mug on a little tray - I was charmed!) Park on Coniston Road and walk through the alleyway as it's a bit of a bunfight on the front. All in all, was very happy with the party service and will go back.
