Cella Vinaria Antiqua is a secular Wine Cellar & Museum, restored and converted into a workshop for produce, preserve and disseminate the millenarian technique of producing wine in clay amphoras. A singular space that tells a story with thousands of years and that brings together the best of the history, the culture, and the tradition of Alentejo.
Wonderful experience at Cella Vinaria Antiqua/Honrado. Ruben was great - he was kind enough to do a special program for my elementary-age son & me (kids "wine" making + lunch). Incredible, historic space (the wine cellar). Truly, one of our best experiences in Portugal - very memorable. This place is "off the beaten path" and a "hidden gem", as they say. If you are looking for a unique & memorable experience - you MUST check out Cella Vinaria Antiqua!

Quetzal Art Center, a contemporary art exhibition space of 450 m², is situated in a historically rich region in rural and scenic Alentejo (Portugal), far away from the metropolitan art hubs. From its inception, Quetzal focuses on the development of a contemporary art programme that is to appeal to both a specialist audience and a broader, curious public. It is driven by a desire to test art’s purpose outside the traditional institutional and commercial structures. Quetzal Art Center presents exhibitions with works by both established and emerging international artists, with an emphasis on finding connections between artistic generations, and stimulating curatorial experiment. Serving as the foundation of Quetzal’s artistic activities is the private art Collection de Bruin-Heijn. The founders of Quinta do Quetzal are the Dutch couple Cees and Inge de Bruin. They have been collectors of contemporary art and patrons of culture for more than four decades.
