Hawkshead is a village and civil parish in Cumbria, England, which attracts tourists to the South Lakeland area. The parish includes the hamlets of Hawkshead Hill, 1.2 miles (1.9 km) to the north west, and Outgate, a similar distance north. What a fantastic little place this is, many interesting g things to see and read, a lovely in sight to the life to the brilliantly talented Beatrix Potter, Staff are extremely friendly and polite and very knowledgeable. Would def return and 100% recommended

Unexpectedly inexpensive tour conducted by a knowledgeable and delightful fellow who made the history of the school come alive. Established in 1585 and attended by William Wordsworth - a trove of treasures and stories contained within. Fascinating and ceratinly well worth a visit.

Fantastic loved it if you love Beatrix potter you will find it amazing seeing i she just to live all her own furniture and you can go up the stairs to her bedroom plenty of helpful staff for questions and fantastic gardens a gift shop there also

We visited the gallery whilst staying near Hawkshead. The lady running the gallery was very polite, friendly and knowledgeable, she took time to show us around and talk about the different artists whose work is displayed and was happy to answer any questions. We ended up purchasing a painting of a Stag by Rob Hefferan and then a landscape by John Russell from the Coniston shop. We are very happy with our purchases and were very grateful to Maggie for her help during our visit.

We had a fab time at the chocolate factory this morning. My little girl loved all the chocolate making in the factory and the lady running it (Juliet) was so good with her! Chocolate was delicious and we took away loads!!! Thanks :)
