Simply a magnificent property. The National Trust is lucky to have this estate which was turned over to the government with furnishings almost intact in lieu of death duties. There are numerous paintings by Sir Joshua Reynolds, a library of over 3,000 books, remarkable Chinese wallpaper, a spectacular collection of Wedgewood, and much, much more. Room docents were outstanding. The gardens are beautiful and there is both a tea room and a delightful cafe where we enjoyed a late lunch - the carrot and coriander soup was delicious. There is a gift shop as well as second hand bookshop. Don't miss this treasure!

A great tour of the distillery, we took a 12 & 15 yr old they got in free, even they enjoyed the tour and smelling and tasting the gin botanicals. The adults got to sample the gin, sloe gin & fruit cup, all delicious. £10 per adult with then a free gin & tonic in the Barbican bar or a miniature to take away, very relaxing. It’s important to book your tour to avoid disappointment. I then bought a bottle of each for home ????

We go this spa every year in October with my friend,it’s a tradition for years, book a spa day on Saturday £120 spa facilities lunch and treatment, always amazing service. They were short of staff today for treatments and had to shuffle the times,so our lunch was at 2:30pm and treatments after 5pm which is a long way to wait,so we asked for the option to keep the treatments which had been paid already anyway and come another day,but having spa and lunch today,a fantastic lady Sarah (God she was fabulous), kindly agreed for that option and even treated us with a free pack of spa goodies! After that we felt guilty really thinking we were pain in the ass lol So we have got all treatments rebooked thumbs up amazing customer service!Back again for sure! P.S. the food is stunning as usual! Highly recommended!!!!

Hoe Park

Reviewed By LuxEscapes - Perth, Australia

Situated in Plymouth on the coast ' The Hoe' is a must see and do. I would suggest if driving park near the Barbican end and you can walk right around and past the light house. Or even better walk up past the war memorial from the city centre and you have plenty of time to take it all in. Amazing views out to the ocean , you can see the famous Drakes island - Plymouth Hoe is also the famous site where Francis Drake defeated the Spanish Armarda whilst enjoying a game of boules. There is a statue of him here. The war memorial is a wonderful way to pay respect to fallen soldiers, and us kept nice and clean by the local authorities. Go grab an ice cream from one of many ice cream vans and relax. You can find some great fish and chips along the road, and also a beer or 3 in the local taverns . There is the famous Mayflower steps , just so much history here. Travel tip- if you go in the summer months there is the famous Tinside swimming pool which you can use for a small fee, with changing rooms, lifeguards and a cafe on site. A Great day out for everyone in summer or winter. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
