Not sure why Trip Advisor is a place to review the Y but when I happened to view the one and only review on here, I had to stop and take time to say this: this is the Y. A longstanding community resource available to all with fitness, kids camp, and other services you can only find at your local, warm and friendly Y. I mean come on, this is the kind of place with a huge community bulletin board! Yes the locker rooms are very basic and the showers are communal, but the lockers are not moldy, never have been, and I've been around too, since the 80s btw both Bethesda and Silver Spring locations, the building staff are constantly working to clean the place, the front desk staff are welcoming and knowledgeable about available programs and can sign you up anytime. The teaching staff are experienced and relatively dedicated. The outdoor heated pool is maintained and even though they have had issues here and there, it's a dream to go swimming on a sunny day...in January and not pay Ritz hotel prices for your gym membership. What more do you want?!
