In year 1930 it has began the construction of Precista Curch from Piatra-Neamt and in year 1947 this was holy by Moldova's and Suceava's Metropolitan, Irineu Mihalcescu and by P.S. Iustinian, later Patriarch of Romanian Orthodox Church. At holy service also was priest Constantin Matasa, the one that animated the beginning and the end of this Holy Church.

We were met by the son of the founder of this little gem. Pops senior had put together an incredible collection, starting with naive wooden carvings and including a collection of artefacts showing Transylvanian life. We are so glad that we made a short detour to visit this museum. It was well worth it. And we must thank our host for his hospitality at the end of our visit. Don’t forget to visit the ceramic shop in the grounds. We bought a lovely dish there and met the lady who had made it.

At Valeni is one of the oldest and durable wooden churches from Moldova, built in the middle of dense forest, during the reign of Petru Rares, in the year 1538. It was rebuilt by Lapusneanu and then by Ieremia Movila. When you step into it, is like stepping into a museum that presents an exceptional pictorial treasure.
Was built in 1895 and between 1936-1939 has been subjected to several renovations. The church had changed the look starting with year 2012. Historical files certify the existence of Catholics on Moldova region from 13th century.
