Went on a retreat at Guinevere Guest Farm in Tulbagh. It was one of the most beautiful, peaceful places I have ever been in my life. Carly lead a private retreat here at the Guest home. She is an amazing chef and host. The land has a natural swimming hole, great hiking trails with further natural swim areas and cows and horses further away from the house. The courtyard within the home, large windows and the decks off the rooms bring beauty and make for a charming renaissance style guest home. It would be great for a family retreat.

Tulbagh is a gem. From the beautifully renovated houses of Church Street, to the great museums, superb restaurants and wine farms both in and around the town, and wonderful people that live there, it’s a fabulous place to spend a weekend. Be warned, you’ll want to stay a week ... or two!

The 4km River Route gives an idea of the farming activities and also pass along beautiful mountain fynbos (natural vegetation). The longer 10km Elsbos Route continues along the lower hills of the Witzenberg Mountain with beautiful mountain fynbos and some of the finest views in the valley.
The hike at Murludi farm was suggested to us by our Airbnb hosts, and it was so worthwhile. We arrived to an amazing lady at the farms reception who gave us each some free dried fruit in a little pack, explained to us what the hike would look like and gave a number to call in case of any issues. We could also buy some water at the reception for a ridiculously low price. We the took the hike and were continually surprised on the different areas and the different types of beauty. We did the full 10km hike and it took us about 3 hours to do, with a few stops for photos, a quick snack of our dried fruit and some stops to refill our water bottles in the stream. We thoroughly enjoyed it and would suggest it to anyone in Tulbagh. Worth supporting this farm!
