Scenic 33-mile drive which must be taken in a clockwise direction since areas of it are one-way.
A must do for visitors to Crater Lake. Many people simply drive up to the Rim Village and go no further. They are missing so much. The drive around the Rim Drive allows you to see the lake from different perspectives and the light hitting the lake at different angles gives variations in the color. Don't miss it.

Great Trail along the rim of the crater, can easily be done by most. The Views alone are worth it and you can easily walk to the trailhead from several points nearby if parking is full.

This is an excellent starting point to go around the lake. Restrooms and Visitors Center informational materials are available in here.

First lookout on the Crater Lake when you reach it from the North side...we were driving here from Bend and when you get out from the car and you climb a little hill to get to this lookout...it takes your breath away....gorgeous spot. From here we when left (East) to the only one access trail to the lake ...and than we drove around the rim (with shorter and longer stops for other lookouts and trails) and we got to the Crater Lake Lodge for dinner...and than back to this Merriam Point to go down to Roseburg.
