6 Shopping Malls in Central Business District That You Shouldn't Miss

October 13, 2021 Terina Blouin

The Singapore cityscape looks like it was ripped from the pages of a science fiction comic book. If you’re hungry for a true Singapore experience, sample the myriad street foods or take a cultural cooking class. The Botanic Gardens and the Gardens By the Bay offer a slice of horticultural heaven, and the observation deck of the Sands SkyPark makes you feel like you’re high above the clouds. The banks and walkways along the Singapore River bustle with local activity.

Chinatown Point

I used to live in Sing in the 80's, so maybe I am biased. I get that Sing is a western/asian fusion city, and that is a big part of its appeal. But for me, I am always looking for that 80's feel. The Chinese shopping centres, the rabbit warren of stores, the awesome food, the feel of days gone by. Chinatown Point gives me that. It also provides a fairly decent shopping experience, with ready access to many others close by. I love the Singapore Mint store, the coin shop, the dim sum restaurant, and the cool inclined walkways. This is the heart and soul of Sing for me, this kind of place. Orchard is cool, but too modern, and too lacking in local character. That's my humble opinion!
