My stepmom found Matthew after searching through multiple Normandy private tours. Thank goodness, it was fantastic! We basically had him as our private guide for 9-hours, taking us to Saint Mare Eglise, Utah Beach, Point Du Hoc, Omaha Beach, Normandy American Cemetery and several others. Matthew picked us up at our hotel front door in Caen and he was extremely flexible and adjusted to what we wanted to see or eat. At the end of the day, he went out of the way to show us Willian the Conqueror’s castle in Caen. Overall, a fantastic tour at a great bargain (~$100/person). We highly recommend you try this tour when you come to Normandy. We took Matthew’s business card and will absolutely hire him again.

We used Locvelo to transport our luggage each day on a cycling trip from Cherbourg to Caen. The owner could not have been more helpful - always arriving on time and replying to emails very promptly. I would definitely recommend the company to anyone requiring luggage transfer.

I was disappointed by the fact that the presentation was so impersonal. While it was well done from a audtio-visual aspect I wanted to be able to interact with real people, to ask questions on Calvados, origins, apple types, how it was made and so on. Instead there was this standard simple presentation with strong PR overtones. Even in the tasting room staff pured a sample then moved away and it was not easy to get the information I wanted. By the last sample one staff member was beginning to warm to the task but really I had hoped to see the actual production process, not just a static dispaly of some equipment and a film on the orchards etc. I still bought a bottle because it is rather good Calvados.Perhpas I was expecting too much. I enjoyed the tasting.

Six of us were on a cruise that stopped at Le Havre. Two of us had been to Normandy three times previously and four had not visited the area . We had reached out to another tour company, but it could not accommodate us and recommended Lena. It was very fortuitous for us!! After our initial plan proved to be too ambitious, Lena worked with us to select the places our group particularly wanted to visit in the Utah and Omaha beach areas. She picked us up in Le Havre from our cruise ship (her car is quite comfortable for 6 adults). While heading towards Utah Beach, she provided a thorough overview of the German preparations and the Allies' intentions. Our first stop was Ste. Mere Eglise and we worked eastward, stopping at Pointe du Hoc, WN62/1st Infantry Division Monument, the American Cemetery, and for lunch. She provided an operational understanding of events as they unfolded, but also the individual human stories related to these events. She was able to answer all of our questions. All of us learned a great deal. Lena was most informative, an expert on D-Day history, and an excellent story teller, She had illustrative photos and charts that greatly added to our understanding of the events. We hope someday to return to Normandy and complete the British and Canadian sectors. If we do return, we will take another tour with Lena! She returned us to the ship with ample time remaining. We are very glad she could be our guide for the day. It was a memorable and moving day for us all.
