6 Night Tours in Province of Granada That You Shouldn't Miss

April 30, 2022 Myesha Cogley

There’s an Arabic inscription that captures the essence of Granada in a few words: “There is nothing so sad as to be blind in Granada.” The perspicacity of this declaration becomes obvious as soon as you penetrate the austere walls of the Alhambra and take in the full majesty of the architecture, carvings and fountains of the Nasrid palaces. Your ticket (which should be bought well in advance following the instructions on the attraction’s website) also affords entry to the Renaissance Palace of Carlos V and to the exquisite gardens of the Generalife. If you are celebrating a special event, or are in the market for a splurge, you can stay in the lovely Parador, right on site. Make your way down into the city via the atmospheric old quarter of the Albaicin, with its tiny craft shops and restaurants, and head for the Cathedral and Royal Chapel. Also plan a visit to the crypt for the tombs of Ferdinand and Isabella, the instigators of Spain’s imperial adventures to the New World and beyond. It’s worth making the short journey out of town to visit the Monasterio Cartuja, a fabulous Carthusian monastery in the baroque style. Admirers of the poet Lorca should make the effort to visit the Casa-Museo Federico Garcia Lorca in Fuente Vaqueros, about 11 miles from the city centre.

Wonderful experience if you've got a 3+ day trip planned to Catalonia. You'll meet up and take a 45-ish minute bus ride to up to Montserrat and go on a tour of the monastery and have a chance to buy some premium products (olive oils, liqueurs, etc.). You'll get some free time to explore on your own and then ride the train down the mountain to a local ranch where you'll get paired up with your horse. It was my first time riding a horse in about 15-20 years, but they made it as easy as possible. The horse tour through the country side lasts somewhere between 1-2 hours and the views are breathtaking.

My partner and I did a night walking tour with Caterina. The tour was complete, informative and scenic. Caterina was an excellent guide, she was engaging and had answers to all of our questions. No details were missed! We did a tour of Alhambra by ourselves and wished we had Caterina with us! Thanks again for a fantastic and educational experience. Highly recommend.

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER! QR code Tickets from MyTopTour are not valid when you want to enter and visit Alhambra. Mytoptour did send us tickets but not valid for the Alhambra’s entrance staff and technology. So we had to call them 5x to finally get an answer and the final official PDF tickets. On the phone, they pretend to only speak spanish and not English which is a shame for a travel company, just to avoid to help tourists in case of trouble. Because of the false tickets, we missed the slot to visit the palace and had to wait 1h30... Price is a full scam, they sell tickets with audio guide for 32€ while on Alhambra’s official website you can have the exact same access and audioguide for 21€ per person. They charge you 11€ for no reason and don’t refund when you discover the cheat!! I DO NOT RECOMMEND MY TOP TOUR!!! AVOID THIS COMPANY OR YOU WILL HAVE A BAD EXPÉRIENCE AT ALHAMBRA
