Easily missed, very small National Trust car park and a 10 minute walk gets you to a great beach, best visited on the ebb tide as covered at high water. Plenty for kids to explore

Daymer Bay Beach

Even on a blustery cold day, an absolute pleasure. Plenty of parking, not free so dont forget to pay and display, though its a narrow approach so expect to do some shuffling round in season. Im pretty sure most people can accommodate that! Regardless, beautiful beach, we hit it when the tide was way out so had the choice of directions to wander, opting for the Polzeath direction. If you take the coast path its a couple of miles to Polzeath and a cuppa!! Lovely wide open beach at low tide with great views. Of note, or at least we enjoyed seeing it, were the striped rocks. Super colours, what amazing things nature gives us! Overall a good couple of hours out, though longer could be spent quite easily. Dog friendly, and as with all Cornwalls great beaches please pick up after your dog and keep it this way. Thanks!!

We were recommended to try this company and do the Wadebridge - Padstow bike ride by some friends. The company were excellent - I pre-booked and all the bikes were ready when we arrived. The young man helping us couldn’t have been more helpful adjusting seats and inflating tyres, as well as helping us decide between a ride along bike or a trailer for my son. We had amazing W weather and one of our best family days out on our Cornwall holiday. We will definitely use again and highly recommend!

The Camel Trail

The camel trail is ideal if you’re a cyclist or a walker, the views are simply stunning as well as the old railway features that are still in place . My favourite part has to be from Wadebridge to Padstow. It’s approximately about 6.5 miles and relatively flat for the most part. Highly recommended for a great day out.

Porteath Bee Centre

We had a really lovely lunch here - homemade mushroom soup with substantial roll for one; delicious pie for the other. Liked it so much we came for a vegetarian cooked breakfast on another day, all with great coffee. (The homemade cakes looked fabulous tho we were saving ourselves for a planned cream tea later.) The cook/waiter was a great guy . So friendly and enterprising. Exactly the sort of business that deserves to succeed. The WiFi saved my (vegetarian) bacon too as I had work that needed to be done. Nice rural view too. The cafe is above the Bee Centre which also has a shop packed with bee-related gifts - and of course there own lovely honey.
