Ferry Beach

Had my first trip here after nine years in Maine and I have no idea how I went so long without hearing about this gem of a beach! Sprawling stretches of sand great for couples, solo trips, or families. Water was shallow and the warmest I've felt of the Atlantic yet. A hermit crab migration made it a great time to watch and get up close to the wildlife. Looking forward to exploring more of the shoreline in search of more sea glass picking! Great place for shells!

This is the best beach and area I've ever been to, especially for a family vacation! It's quiet, serene, far enough to escape reality, and close enough to shops/entertainment to have something to do on rainy days. They have dog hour in the mornings which is fabulous! Love everything about this beach and this whole area!

Scarborough Beach State Park

We stopped over night on our way to Bar Harbor and took a walk along the beach. It was like having a private beach all to ourselves, the weather was unsettled that afternoon, so the beach was empty. The water was warm. My 15 year old daughter was doing cartwheels on the way sand. There were the sweetest baby seagulls running around.
