A stylish beach town on France’s southwestern coast, Biarritz was once the vacation spot for nobility and is now Europe’s surfing capital. It’s experienced a tourist renaissance—summers are busy. Biarritz lacks the Riviera’s glitz, but you’ll see affluent vacationers in designer gear and surfers in flip-flops, and hear French, Spanish and Basque. The Grande Plage is the center of the action. Behind it, visit the restored, Art Deco casino and wander the streets down to the old port to the west.

To measure the full experience, get up early: between 6 and 7 am is the best time ! Depending on the tide...

A small and charming beach close to the town centre. Good sand and well sheltered from large waves. I would certainly go again.

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the aquarium this afternoon; there’s plenty to see and enjoy, the space is clean and explanations are clear and educative. Something to be aware of is that there’s no parking on the premises so you’ll have to walk to the aquarium, the closest spot we could find was a few hundred metres away. This place is well worth a visit - excellent.

This stretch of sandy beach with a beautiful scenery is the center place of Biarritz in my view as it is harbours the Casino, the burgundy facade of Hotel du Palais and a beautiful view on the rocks in the bay. It is a nice walk both on the sand or on the promenade above it.
