Horst Janssen Museum

The Horst Janssen Museum as an institution is entirely devoted to the fine arts on paper. It is dedicated to Horst Janssen (1929-1995), the great Northern German artist in drawing and etching who created great masterpieces on paper during the second half of the 20th century. The broad range of his art is impressive: There are wood carvings, fine line drawings, etchings, lithographies and water colours. The museum shows in ever changing exhibitions the best examples of his egomaniac selfportraits, his in utterly abandon dessinated still lifes of flowers, his unmasking portraits and erotic drawings.
