The Carolina Basketball Museum

We went once before a basketball game. I have to say it was impressive. I have worked with the University and the athletic department providing deejay and emcee services and have always been proud to be associated with UNC (also a 1983 graduate). Knowing some of the coaches, players and others represented here was an extra thrill for me and sharing with my friends and family was great. GO HEELS!

Ackland Art Museum

The Ackland Art Museum’s permanent collection consists of more than 19,000 works of art, featuring North Carolina’s premier collections of Asian art and works of art on paper (drawings, prints, and photographs), as well as significant collections of European masterworks, 20th-century and contemporary art, African art, and North Carolina pottery. The Ackland organizes several special exhibitions each year. Admission is always free to all.

The Ackland Art Museum is a free museum in Downtown Chapel Hill. It is a smaller art museum but the museum collection is great and the rotating exhibits are also quality works. I was so impressed with the Outwin exhibit. The works engage conversation. If you are in Chapel Hill, this museum is worth a stop. The gift shop is now in the museum building too.

This Thanksgiving week was my second visit to Kidzu but just one of many visits for my grandchildren. This time they took their cousin from D.C. They are 6, 5, and 3 years old. All of them had a great time. There's lots of opportunity for unstructured play and there also are arts and crafts classes all going on at the same time. If you need to leave for a quick errand, just present your receipt and you'll get in free when you return. Kids get in free but adults pay admission.
