The Van Eesteren Museum is the information center about architect and urban planner Cornelis Van Eesteren and his work & ideas, the realisation & renewal of the (Western) Garden Cities of Amsterdam. It consists of an indoor museum, an outdoor museum and a museum dwelling. The indoor museum in the Van Eesteren Pavilion houses a permanent exhibition about Cornelis Van Eesteren and his work & ideas. The outdoor museum is the true collection and heritage of Van Eesteren of post-war architecture, buildings and districts. The museum dwelling is an original period apartment completely remodelled in the style of the fifties. The museum organizes guided walks and tours through the outdoor museum, visits to the museum dwelling, and talks, events and educational projects about all kinds of topics related to Van Eesteren, (post-war) urban planning and architecture, and the (Western) Garden Citie(s). The Van Eesteren Museum is open Thursday - Sunday, 12.00 - 17.00 o'clock.
