Palampur is a hill station and a municipal council in the Kangra Valley in the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh. It is the tea capital of northwest India, surrounded by pine forests and flanked by the Dhauladhar ranges. The town derives its name from the local word palum, meaning lots of water. There are numerous streams flowing from the mountains to the plains from Palampur. The combination of greenery and water gives Palampur a distinctive look.

The tour that was planned was amazing. They took care of our needs from the start till the end of the tour. We had a great time trekking and camping, our trek guide and the caretaker were very hospitable and made us feel comfortable throughout the trek and stay. The trek was during autumn, which had a different feel to itself, with yellow and red shades of the forests, even though it was a bit chilly in November. The way to moridugh was not that difficult, however be prepared to be spellbound by the views it has to offer. The campsite was amidst the forests with a view of snowcapped mountains. The tents and other facilities provided in the camp kept us warm and comfy during the wintry weather. Trek to Bhrigu lake was a bit steep. Even if you do not reach Bhrigu lake, make sure to atleast trek till the meadow area also known as the lonely tree, the view is totally mesmerizing! My overall experience with Himalayan Frontiers was top notch! Could not have asked for a better tour and hospitality! Highly recommended!!

How about a Transalp experience in the Indian Himalayas? Everything on this mountain bike trip is just a little more exotic than the Alpine experience. The trails usually lead to small Indian mountain villages with laughing children, everything is a bit higher (between 1000 and 3000 m altitude) and also wilder. We certainly have the trails for ourselves and a delicious chai always awaits us. Our mtb tour in the Indian Himalayas is a combination of riding, fun, adventure and Indian culture. With stage lengths between 40 and 90 km, the stages are sporty, but also invite for nice breaks. We are practically on the trail of the legendary MTB Himalaya race – only without racing stress. The tour starts in the British-influenced Hillstation Shimla and ends in Mcleod Ganj with the Dalai Lama on the doorstep. We designed the tour in such a way that we are on the road with two bike guides and there are always two different partial routes to choose from . Best time April-June, September-November.

We travelled in February 2020 just before the whole world went into corona lockdown. Our trip announced as multi adventure tour has fully fulfilled all the promises made upfront and much more. We took airplanes, buses, bikes, boats and also made a lot of walks - even this was a nice adventure. Specially at the three days biking through Rajasthans landscape we saw people living on the farms, working on their fields, a school from inside, marriages and much more. In the cities we saw many cultural highlights, all the colors of the markets and people and even had a lot of of fun with the nice group of people we travelled with. Sarah and her team from Chalo made these weeks to a wonderful experience - not only the tourists view was shown but also a view of the real life in India with all the nice things but not ignoring the problems and issues they have to deal with. It was our 2nd trip to India, and this trip was much better than the 1st one organized by another company (and we saw the tigers!). We would always book another trip with Sarah to experience new India adventures.
