Good place to stay
Reviewed By Sandra AWeather was rainy and cold, but room was warm. We arrived without reservation, and all doors were closed. We called to phone number which was written on glass doors and receptionist came in 4min, checked us in and was very welcoming. Nice rooms and perfect breakfasts. Definetly will come back in summer season.

К счастью, хозяин увидел нашу возню во дворе и открыл нам. Наш номер был на втором этаже, все отделано деревом, все удобства есть. Велосипеды нам разрешили запереть в сауне. С хозяином мы сразу расплатились наличными и договорились, в какое время нам подавать завтрак. Утром мы вышли завтракать в соседнее небольшое здание, еду готовила и подавала мама хозяина. Омлет с ветчиной и кофе - все очень вкусно. По видимому, хозяин отеля увлекается рыбалкой, т.к. вокруг много соответствующих журналов, а его мама выращивает просто потрясающие кактусы - на подоконниках целая коллекция. В целом, отель очень удобен для остановки на ночь, если вы приехали на машине или велосипеде.

Reviewed By Marius ZAfter visit to the Latvian capital city of Riga, stopped here for one night sleep. The motel is located near the highway E 67 (38 km from city), in a wooded area. All the windows of the rooms look into the forest - the noise from the highway is excluded. Free car parking. Rooms equipped for minimum service - wardrobe, a beds with a comfortable mattress, Tv, free Wi-Fi in all rooms, sofa, table. Bathroom - warm water, shower curtain and toilet. Rooms sorted for smokers and nonsmokers, specify it in your order ! In motel hall - a small bar and a few tables with soft armchairs. In order price usually includes breakfast - coffee or tea, two warm, fresh buns,butter, plus several varieties scrambled eggs with bacon or pancakes. Reasonable price - 30 - 36 euros for a double room. After a good sleep and a delicious breakfast, you can safely continue the journey ...

Friendly Staff members and good rest before the flight
Reviewed By CynticuksThis hotel was a good choice in our occasion. It is very close to the Riga Airport, so it was convenient for us to have a rest before the flight at 6 am in the morning. Taxi from the hotel to the Airport was only 6 euros. I would suggest booking the room in this hotel as it is quite cheap comparing to Riga prices and offers good customer service and rooms.

Soviet Nostalgia at its Truest
Reviewed By JMDHoffIf you've ever thought to yourself, "I really want to go back in time to Soviet times" - first, perhaps you should get off TripAdvisor and seek professional help, there's nothing good about those times that isn't a lot better now... Second, if you don't believe me, book a stay at Motel Akva. Oh, never mind, don't bother booking, because it's not like they actually check the bookings and just look at you funny when you explain you have a reservation. The rooms are basically straight out of a soviet era snuff film, complete with a clear scent of having been smoked in heavily in the past; oh, and flies. So many flies. No air conditioning, naturally, though they do advertise cable TV and free WiFi (neither of which I tested). There are fridges in the rooms, but they aren't on, so will take longer than my stay to actually be of use. Perhaps if they'd checked the bookings, they'd turn them on in time? Perhaps not. Jelgava doesn't have too many places to stay, but for sure I won't be back to this one, unless I'm shooting a movie and need it to feel ultra realistic.
