For an alternative Texas experience, consider El Paso. Located far from the bright lights of Dallas or San Antonio, in the state's western corner along the sparkling shores of the Rio Grande, El Paso boasts a different feel than its eastern counterparts. A true melting pot of American and Mexican culture, the combination is noticeable everywhere. Visit the El Paso Museum of Art and see American works from the 19th and 20th centuries, as well as Mexican colonial art and retablos from the 1700s and 1800s. Restaurants serve authentic Mexican cuisine, Texas barbecue or a little of both. While this fusion of cultures draws some, the rock climbers who descend on El Paso have only one thing in mind: scaling the massive boulders of Hueco Tanks State Park. Those who prefer the ground can wander through the park's interpretive center and see ancient Indian pictographs. Other popular El Paso pastimes include golf, mountain biking and our personal favorite, stargazing.

We had lots of choices of places to stay but the price cleanliness and amenities here really made it our #1 choice. Stayed here four nights to tour El Paso and had a special liking for El Segundo Barrios. Can't say enough good things about this hotel. Front desk staff was friendly and visibly happy to be there and it showed! Hotel was spotless, our room was large and clean with fridge microwave and hairdryer. No road noise even though location is next to a highway, good mattress and nice bathroom with plenty of fluffy towels. Breakfast was abundant even though it was a simple one with yogurt apples Danish pastries and instant oatmeal. Nice to have a full day coffee dispenser in the lobby. Only small issue are the drawers of the cupboard which have missing knobs or handles. These oversights can be easily fixed if the maids are trained to report every fault in the room which requires immediate rectification so the room is well maintained at all times.

Well the room was cheap and the bed clean, mostly. We stayed here one night on a long road trip. The motel is convenient to I10. The staff was courteous and not wearing masks. The room was clean. The bedspread had large old stains all over it. The sheets were clean with a cigarette burn hole. No bed bugs. The bath tub is old with a decaying finish. Lots of rust. Peeling plaster around the edge of the tub. I was not comfortable using the shower tub it looked so bad. The air was made fresh by the freshener disks jammed into the grill of the HVAC unit. TV worked fine. There was mild to moderate road noise and the drapes did not completely block the security lights from shining into the room. Overall I would not stay again despite the cheap price.

Room was extremely dirty, food crumbs, hairs, dust, stained walls, so nasty, I have never been to a hotel like this even for the same price, it literally felt like police would show up to pick up someone at any moment, did not feel safe. Almost no light in the room, smelled like cigarettes even with the no smoking room, door knob was broken, AC had peanuts inside the vent! Keep in mind the pictures I post are of the room they moved us to after telling them the original one was dirty. I wouldnt recomment this to anyone.

Motel 6 El Paso West is located off of I-10 and North Mesa, only 5 miles from the Outlet Mall and 11 miles from the El Paso International Airport. All modern rooms include free Wi-Fi and micro-fridge units. Enjoy our business center and outdoor pool.
The room smelled like a litter box, I had to go buy a candle to bare the smell… the TV set up is ridiculous, you can barely get an hdmi cord into the tv because of how it’s mounted on the wall. For the price I guess it was ok, they didn’t have a pet fee, but maybe they should so they could use that money to clean up the place.

Studio 6 El Paso East is located off Interstate 10. El Paso International Airport, El Paso Zoo and Ft Bliss are nearby. We offer fully equipped kitchens and WIFI available in all modern rooms for 4.95 per stay.
Booked same day so was happy to just get a room. First, it took me 15 minutes to find the room even after asking again because clerk couldn't tell me exactly where it was and there were no maps given or on wall. Got a handicapped room, no problem. 3 room studio with small bedroom, bathroom and kitchen. Looks like bedroom and kitchen were remodeled and looked good but bathroom a mess. Good pts: bed clean, heat, toilet, shower, hot water frig and flat screen TVs worked. Had DISH. Bad: bath needs remodeled. Nasty. NOT CLEAN, LET ALONE SANITIZED. Boot footprints in shower. Plus it was filthy: nightstand, floors not mopped, layers of dust on lights. Had to use disinfecting wipes to stay there. Exposed pipes in bathroom and kitchen. It was late. Otherwise would have changed rooms or hotels. May be in process of remodeling. But that does not explain dirt. Understand value hotels have basics; OK with that. What I do expect is that everything works and that it is clean. Would consider staying again if above issues addressed.
