Wonderfully relaxing!

I stayed in one of the cottages this past weekend and it was fabulous! Very clean, comfortable, extra paper towels, garbage bags, plenty of towels. Absolutely loved it! Will definitely be back!! It is still early in the year and many things were still not open but I was quite content where I was.

Loved being able to see the water from inside the room and from our deck. That was great. The room itself could use some updating, and the bathroom really needed help. The toilet barely flushed, the shower did not drain, and the entire bathroom should really be updated.

Inexpensive, but shabby and desperately in need of work

I would love to give a positive review about this place. We stayed for 2 nights, and the bed was comfortable and the shower was hot. But. I would not stay here again. The exterior steps up to the outer door are covered with outdoor carpeting which has worn through to exposed wood and presents a shabby appearance. There is a enclosed hallway in front of the individual doors, the floor of which is uneven. The room itself is small, but that wasn't a problem. The carpet is dark and dingy, with the bottoms of my white socks showing the dirt. There was a community refrigerator and microwave in the hallway that we could use. Lodging in Copper Harbor is expensive. Brockaway Inn is a choice for the budget traveler, and although we like to travel inexpensively, I would choose another option the next time.

North Port Motel

surprise

This is one of the worth motels I have ever stayed at. You walk in the room and you can smell mold. You check-in and their living quarters is just filthy. The only good thing I can say it was cheap in price and I was allow me to park there while I was backpacking the inland.

Really disappointed

We have stayed here in the past. It has changed. This time is the last time. The good: the enclosed porch is well heated. Thankfully since it is indeed winter in the Keweenaw Peninsula. It was clean and easy to walk through carrying our baggage. It appeared there was more than ample place for those who were snowmobiling to park their sleds. The towels were very clean and pretty thick. We were provided new towels each day. The bad: The fitted sheets did not fit. See picture. Hence ones sleep was disrupted by sheets gathering every which way. Further, you could see the horrible conditions the mattress pads were in. The shower was big and the water was easy to adjust. HOWEVER, there are absolutely NO hangers to hang up wet towels or clothing. The bathroom has tiles for floors which would be good IF there were heat in the bathroom. Frozen floors!! The shower curtain rod was all broken up plastic-does it take much to get a new one? There are no hangers in the bedroom. Where, pray tell, does one hang up winter clothing?? Ridiculous! The walls tend to be somewhat thin hence you can hear next door rather easily. In our case, we were by the sauna and people don’t stay in there all night. One of beds was comfortable the other sagged in the middle. Television service is poor and the tv is so small that the names on the screen couldn’t fit. Overall, this is a place where I would not recommend to others. There are places in town which must provide a better stay than here.
