Next to the Vanoise Express cable car linking La Plagne with Les Arcs, Premium Service chalet Sermoz is spacious, with superb alpine views, hot-tub on balcony, free WiFi and an excellent catering service boasting a proper full English breakfast. The chalet is close to the village centre with it’s choice of bars, shops and restaurants.
I can't say enough good things about Chalet Sermoz! Location could not be better, just a two minutes walk from the lift and lots of skiing options. The views are out of this world and Louise, Peter and Nathan took wonderful care of us. I can't speak highly enough about the service provided and the comfy, yet spacious ambiance of the chalet. My partner and I will most definitely be back!

We are extremely proud and pleased to offer Esprit guests superb chalet accommodation on one of the most exciting recent developments in the Alps in many years. "Les Chalets des Deux Domaines" constitute an exclusive enclave of six detached chalets, just a short walk from the "Vanoise Express" cable-car, at the perfect mid-point of the massive Paradiski area.
Chalet has potential to be great.Great position 2 minutes from Vanoise lift and large rooms, but poorly run by Neilson. No wifi, steam room not working, lift not working. Poor wine, poor afternoon tea and poor evening meal. Dangerous food preparation, leaving out chicken/pork to defrost for more than 24 hours. Cream cheese/milk left out 24 hours. Neilson use frozen bread and pastries... poor when in France. Local manager patronising and in denial.

Just returned from a fantastic week at Chalet Castor with Neilson (Neilson have recently purchased these chalets from Esprit). We stayed in Chalet Castor which is one of 6 similar chalets they have this season. We've stayed in Chalets twice previously with two other companies and neither were anywhere near as good as Neilson. The chalet itself was spotless, spacious and had amazing views. It's very close to both the Peisey lift for skiing in Les Arcs and the Vanoise Express for skiing in La Plagne - couldn't have asked for a better location. There are quite a few steps down to the chalet but there is a locked boot room at the top where you can leave all your equipment and our chalet hosts helped with our bags so it was no problem at all really. Without the steps you wouldn't have such incredible views of the valley which we felt was a small price to pay. Our chalet hosts Matty, Luke and Dan were brilliant - all of our meals were delicious and they happily catered for any dietary requirements. We had a power cut one evening and they handled this very calmly - despite not being able to cook, and put together an impromptu cheese board to keep us going until the power was restored. We also took advantage of the free ski coaching/guide sessions with an ESF instructor which really topped off the week for us - we learnt loads and really enjoyed the introduction to a little bit of off piste too. Entertainment in the Neilson bar was also a great touch - quiz night, live music and reasonably priced drinks. We will definitely be booking with Neilson again :)

For this ski holiday we were looking for a location which offered a kids club as we were travelling with an 11 month old and were slightly nervous about putting him In child care. We haven’t booked a package holiday in years but this chalet seemed to tick all the boxes. So I will hopefully give an insight into each element of the holiday. Firstly the actual Chalet is in a good location for the lifts as long as you don’t mind the trek up the 106 steps every day to get to the street level. The boot warmer seems fairly new and definitely did the job. As previously mentioned the ski locker is at the top of the steps so you can leave your skis at the top. All definite good points of this chalet. The rooms are spacious but for some reason our room had a 3rd bed. We also had a cot for the baby so had to keep moving the cot around to open the door or get in the drawers. Not a massive issue but the room was sold as a double but was in fact a triple. The rooms were definitely kept clean and the chalet on a whole was very clean. Hot tub was amazing and looked out over the valley. Unfortunately there were a few little things which affected my rating of this chalet During our stay the chalet was full with different groups (who were a great crowd) but it seemed like there wasn’t enough crockery and cutlery sometimes to cater for different courses etc. On occasions the serving of meals seemed a little chaotic but any requests made to the chalet hosts were dealt with immediately. The fruit bowl had no variety or change of fruit whilst we were there. It contained a couple of apples which had seen better days and then a few days in a couple of very ripe bananas appeared. The food itself for the main meal was good and a full English was an option everyday along with continental breakfast. The path from the chalet to the bottom of the large flight of stairs was extremely icy when we got there and had a drop on one side of it. Staff did break it up half way through the week but left big chunks of ice and the path was very narrow between. This wasn’t ideal when carrying a baby to the crèche. The very top of the stairs was also the same but hadn’t been cleared. I can imagine if this was fresh snow it wouldn’t have been as much of an issue but it was quite dangerous due to the thick ice. In terms of the ski guiding sessions (mountain collection) I was looking forward to it as I am a different standard of skier to that of my partner so it meant I could ski with other people. Sadly I didn’t manage to book on one as the process wasn’t really emphasised when we got there. By the time I realised what I had to do all the sessions were booked and so I was put on a “reserve” list. I decided to book in a ski clinic with a local school in the end but later found out people hadn’t turned up for the guiding or had dropped out on the day. My advice would be get booked on it straight away when you arrive. The biggest positive for us was the crèche. I have to say the staff were absolutely amazing and couldn’t fault them in any way. The communication was excellent and our little boy loved going. They took time to cater for his needs and took him out on little trips. This has definitely given us the confidence to use Neilson again for child care on a ski holiday.

This is a great size chalet for 3 or 4 families. The rooms are a good size and most have a balcony of some size and a view over the valley. The living area is spacious with a good size dinner table and sofa area. There is also a big balcony on this level for relaxing the in the spring sunshine. The hot tub looked great, and many chalets near us seemed to be enjoying theirs. However, ours was broken before we arrived and for the duration of our stay. This was an issue but it has been resolved with Esprit on our return. Peisey Les Arcs is a small resort but do not let this put you off. If you are staying with Esprit then you will be travelling with kids. Therefore a choice of bars and restaurants is not top on your list of ‘must haves’. What should be the main requirement is the child care and support for families. That is why you choose Esprit Ski. However, there are a few places to eat and drink and they are all friendly. Food is what you expect from teenagers on a gap year cooking you dinner. The dinners range through the week and there is always plenty of wine. If you want fine dining, then I suggest you book with a different company. Dinners are warm and tasty and the staff are very attentive and try to accommodate for the odd fussy eater (that would be me). You choose Esprit because you care about your children. The child care is great and all our children enjoy the ski lessons, lunches and entertainment provided by the reps in resort. The kids often seem annoyed when we pick them up after lunch to build snowmen. If you want all day childcare then this is an option, but we personally have not used this. Skiing into resort is great. Lovely reds, a safe windy blue run and plenty of tree lined runs for bad visibility days. The ski area is huge and will keep even the best of skiers entertained. You can hire gear form Sport 2000 which is a few meters from the top of the group of chalets. Yes there are steps. Over 100 if you are in this lower chalet. If your hot tub works, then it’s arguably worth it for the views over the valley. If you do not want steps, or think carrying children may be a problem, then choose one of the higher chalets in the same location. Would I return to these chalets? Absolutely. I would stay at any of the 6 they offer. I only gave 4 stars due to the hot tub issue we experienced.
