Greacy breakfast

Reviewed By Richards120473

We stayed here before on 22nd January and everything was perfect. How ever when we stayed at the beginning of April we weren't impressed. I must say the room was lovely but on the evening we went to the bar and ordered 2 glasses of wine. It tasted like it had been watered down. And at £14.70 I would expect a much higher standard. My main problem was with breakfast the plate was swimming in grease. The large mushroom was undercooked and full of grease. It should have been turned over and put on a tray to drain and cook through. I had to place the items of rood onto the higher outer rim of the plate to drain it really was off putting. I did explain all to the gentleman on reception. He stated he would pass my comments onto the chef which is all farewell but doesn't change our experience at the hotel.

HOME FROM HOME

Reviewed By Riochic

A very comfortable, clean and friendly hotel. Plenty of parking. Food excellent, home made fresh produce and plenty of it. Steak Pie to die for! Olde Worlde environment with friendly staff. Not your minimalistic IKEA hotel rooms. Warm large room(No 3) with comfortable bed. Suitable for disabled people as it has a ramp and ground floor rooms. Would highly recommend.

A Real Gem - if you want peace, this is the place...

Reviewed By jonnym204

We love Limestone Lodges & have been coming here for the last few years. It's a blissful mix of peace, countryside, luxury and easy access to the mountains and lakes - what more could you want to for a total refresh? The private hot tub - as always - is the icing on the already delicious cake and the spa at Armathwaite Hall (part of the deal at LL) is brilliant, too! Thanks again to the owners, Paul and Diane, for their friendliness and professionalism in providing such a fab spot to relax in. In terms of what's available locally when you visit: Armathtwaite Hall - lovely spa. The Lakes Distillery is fab for whiskey & the distillery tour, etc. of course, but also for a very nice lunch or (once they open again) a fabulous evening meal. Keswick is lovely and only 10 miles or so away. There are oodles of low levels walks or high mountain challenges right on the doorstep, so you're good for whatever level of walk you like. The new Bassenthwaite Lake Station cafe is new - you can book a table on a steam train (a static one), which we enjoyed (the breakfast was delicious).
