We decided to visit la Baie de Somme, and Les Augustines was one of the few available hotels in this part of the world to propose a family room. When we arrived we were given Room 1. When I arrived i noticed a damp smell but thought not too much of it. We dropped the bags and went off. But when we came back in the evening the smell of damp was very strong. Next morning we spoke to the owner. He is well aware of the problem and blames it on poor insulation on a west facing wall. That day they sprayed a product which temporarily hides the smell but doesn't solve the damp problem. In fact our clothes when left in the room seemed to become damp, even a piece of paper became damp. Why did we stay in such a room, well the owner said it was his only family room, we had paid in advance and we had planned and booked many activities in the area. It doesn't seem like the other rooms have this problem and the owner and staff were friendly. The owner proposed to give us a good deal next time we come back to the hotel, which, considering their only family room is damp, will never happen. So if you are going tell them you will not accept Room #1.

We stayed here in one of the log cabins at the end of August and absolutely loved it! The weather was amazing so we were able to use the beautiful grounds including a well kept outdoor pool. There’s a tennis court, bicycle hire, farm yard animals on site including horses and geese. Close to the beautiful Quend beach. The host was incredibly welcoming and friendly. An absolutely wonderful little place and highly recommend it if you’re looking for some peace and quiet!

Clean, well-maintained campsite. Located within 10 min drive of beach and supermarkets. Very good facilities eg football/basketball area, pétanque, games (billiards, table football), tennis. Accommodation clean with spacious living area. Delicious bread available every day. Pool is nice - shame it’s not open throughout the day.
