We choose this guest house because of all the very positive reviews and we weren't disappointed. The lady of the house, Muthu, was very welcoming and made us a pot of tea and biscuits. Later that evening she prepared a meal that was as good as any we'd had in Sri Lanka - I would say probably the best. In the morning before catching the tuk tuk they'd arranged to take us th Hortons Plain she made a pot of tea and biscuits. The breakfast that we were given on our return fro the Plains was fantastic - my wife had asked for a Sri Lankan breakfast while I had asked for some Sri Lankan bread and jam. Our choices were complimented by sweet pancakes and yogurts. I can't stress our appreciation at the care and quality given by Muthu - I can only recommend it to future visitors th Hortons Plain. Ohiya is the nearest railway station to The Plains And Forest Cyniciam will not disappoint. Thank you.

Hill Safari Eco Lodge is the bungalow of a private tea plantation (Lower Bray Tea Estate). It is a trekkers’ paradise with a trecking programme for 7 days. Visit places of interest in the area – taking 7 to 8 days. The magical place 6,500 ft. above sea level with the widest panoramic view extending from Balangoda to Udawalawe and beyond with its wales and valleys of Lower Uva basin and over the hills of Rakwana and Deniyaya upto the Southern Coast of Sri Lanka. The new wing rooms are equipped with modern furniture and fittings that offer star class comfort to our guests, including a private observation deck for the room. Furthermore, the new wing rooms are facing the Ohiya gap offering a panoramic view from your room, which extends up to the Southern coast (more than 100km) of Sri Lanka.
We stayed at this guest house in 2018 and enjoyed our stay. We had the same great experience this time in 2022. We did not see the same great manager this time, but the gentleman who was in charge this time was just as friendly, helpful and efficient. He seemed to be attending to all activities except for cooking. This time we had a bigger room and it also had a nice view. The bed was comfortable and there was hot water in the bathroom, which was very much needed in that cold climate. Meals provided by the guesthouse were very good. We had traditional Sri-lankan food and the manager was very flexible with our meal requests and times they were served. The guest house did not serve alcohol, but we came prepared with our drinks and the nice manager was ready to preserve our drinks in the kitchen fridge. Staying close to the Horton Plains allowed us to go climb the second highest mountain in Sri-Lanka, Kirigal Potta and return in good time to a great dinner. The only annoying thing was the loud Tamil music coming from the village in the evening and early morning. We had to use ear plugs to avoid waking up too early. The guesthouse, unfortunately, could not do anything about it because the Tamil community in the valley was celebrating Thai Pongal, the Hindu harvest festival. We enjoyed our two-night-stay at this guesthouse. We highly recommend this little guesthouse to trekkers and climbers and also suggest making the reservation well ahead of time because the lodge seemed to fully occupied both days we were there. It is also good to find a suitable way to reach the guest house because the access is very difficult.

Les chambres et lieux communs sont certes un peu spartiates mais tout ça est compensé par l’accueil de la chaleureuse propriétaire et de son fabuleux rice & curry ! L’établissement est idéalement situé pour entrer au parc d’horton plains par le sud.

The spring viwe holiday bungalow is most famous place.this place internally recommend.many visitors come this place.this place very delicious foods and service.

This was definitely not as advertised when I visited in March. The lodge was a large bed inside the family home which only seemed to have men in it. I was a single female traveling alone with a driver. There wasn't even a door just a curtain. It was right opposite the station, there was nothing else around. There was no en suite bathroom of any description. They offered me a chalet in the area opposite, these were just being built and were no more than sheds that we would have in gardens back home in England. I was not impressed. My driver was staying in a hotel a fair drive away but luckily they were able to fit me in and save the day. I hope things have improved there but deluxe holiday lodges on a safari plain is not what I saw. Saddened me because I was looking forward to the trek.
