Rooms badly need a refurb

Stayed in a quad room which badly needed a refurb. Peeling wallpaper, old tired beds and furniture, no shades on bulbs etc. They wanted 35pp for this so spoke to the manager who was in denial then reluctantly agreed to knock £10 off. Not good enough

Great base for Kielder Observatory

Booked 2 night stay here as had booked a late night session at Kielder Observatory (approx 30 minutes drive) Sandy was a great host and sent lots of information which helped us to plan our stay. There was also additional information on places to visit in the room. Sandy was very accommodating with a later breakfast/check out following our extremely late return from Kielder at 3:45am! Our room was very large with an ensuite bathroom, it was lovely to have tea & coffee making facilities with fresh milk and a selection of drinks and snacks. Breakfast was amazing with locally produced items and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this very remote but beautiful part of the world.

Tomas was a fantastic host. Meals were delicious with a wide range availble and the menu had some flexibility which really suited. Had to be up very early in the morning for an event and we were still offered breakfast. Rooms were comfortable, clean and warm, with plenty of free parking. Will definitely stay here again.

Situated by the river and with a beautiful garden our accommodation was perfect. Michael and Jayne our hosts were so welcoming and gave us plenty of their time telling us about the area. Our highlights were sitting by the log burner with the Christmas tree lights on and Jayne’s wonderful breakfast.
